The Basic Definitions of Mis and Disinformation
Despite its prominence in the media, the study of disinformation is still in the process of answering definitional questions and hasn't begun to reckon with some basic epistemological issues. I'm in their crudest use, the terms are simply jargon for things i disagree with. But something i feel a lot of pressure bout whenever i make this argument about the lack of definitions of dison and misinformation. Is this idea that, oh, but surely you can't be a free speech absolutist, like, do you want people to be drinking bleach, you monster?
