The Limitations of the Poppy in LVAD Surgery
A calculated Poppy only represents RV function in a single point in time. A patient could have a different Poppy depending on how much they've been optimized for their LVAD surgery preoperatively, either through ionotopes or mechanical circulatory support. And then moving forward across the patient's perioperative period as they undergo general anesthesia induction and receive fluid maintenance during surgery, further augmentations are being made to the right ventricle. So I would think in general, this can be super useful as another piece of information. You probably don't want to use it in isolation.
