The Bifurcation of Intellectuals and Radicals in the Wake of 68

The abrasings of 60 were met with council's 13 year efforts on both an intellectual and cultural and brutal state repressive fronts. While French theory was being culturally promoted draconian the forms of state and para state and repression were unleashed on anti-capitalist left including the intelligentsia. The fashionable French theory critical of 68 wrote the scented wave of the scarcity of radicality and profited handsomely from a marquee niche that was being globalized by the Anglo-American academy. Those who then simply embrace the idea that french theory is radical theory don't recognize it as a hegemonic product of post-68 failure ultimately in the sense that the movement failed to topple the government.
