The Gerasimov Doctrine or non-Dochtry is a Russian reaction to the Western analysis of how modern warfare is conducted. The Ukrainians have seized the initiative in using both military and civilian technologies, like unmanned aerial vehicles and quadrocopters with great success. We are seeing when a well-educated, well-determined, and well-supported cadre of officers and commanders can do against a seemingly larger adversary. But one that has not really incorporated a lot of these lessons downrange down the line.
