The Greatest Land Acquisition in American History
General rochambeau was about to launch his only offensive campaign of the war when he died. He had gotten some reinforcements over the winter, and now had enough men recovered from injury and disease to launch a campaign in the south peninsula. The whole thing was just one long dy skirmish. Everything stalled out and achieved nothing. This is all to say that the single greatest land acquisition in american history, land that doubled the size of the united states, was all basically thanks to the haytian revolution.
