The Industrial Revolution and Its Importance, Right?

The industrial revolution introduced levels of abstraction into working that is very similar to what you have now with basically the information age coming to fruition. This is something that I still don't really know how to talk about because it was something that really took me a long time to understand, especially coming from a kind of software background. The argument is that the very intangibility of the digital tools that we use prevents us from having a deep understanding of them and their influence in our lives.
