Mixing Hymns and Contemporary Songs Can Help the Older Generation
I'm a big fan of mashups. I think that even taking a portion of something traditional and then bringing in something that's a little bit more modern or contemporary could be really good to help maybe some of the older generation go, oh, just because stylistically I don't necessarily like the new stuff,. We're still worshiping the Lord. Then on the flip side, it can cause maybe a younger generation to have an appreciation for some of the more traditional songs. My knowledge of hymns is not very deep. But I will say I have grown an appreciation to them when we started to mix them with more contemporary songs that I've been raised with that I know better.
