What's Behind the Pegasus Spyware Attacks?
The Knight Institute recently filed a lawsuit against spyware manufacturer NSO Group on behalf of 18 journalists and other members of the digital news organization, El Fado. 22 members of El Fado's newsroom were subjected to hundreds of spyware infections between June 2020 and November 2021. Many of these infections coincided with major news investigations that the journalists were conducting at the time focused on corruption within the Bukiri administration in El Salvador.
