The Importance of Semantic Layers in Reporting
I think people want what they call real time data more often than they necessarily need it. There are absolutely legitimate use cases for it, and I think that we should have a data set and or a set of reports specifically for that so that the rest of the time. The other aspect I found really useful in those semantic layers is not letting them fall into the trap of partial days. Like, you don't want to report on if you're doing data by day, the current incomplete day should not be there.
