The Proportionality of Cancellation Culture
Cancel culture is a phenomenon of social media. It's facilitated by the kind of fundamental structure of Twitter in which you can just pile on and are incentivized to pile on. The internet gives people a sense of power, especially people who have never before held what we think of as power. People rush to judgment of their fellow citizens. They don't have all the information. And it leads to this mob justice pile-on event.
