How close did the germans come to invading britain in 19 forty? I think i logistically, they would have really struggled. They still got to get across that channel. The royal navy was still pretty strong, very much so and could have caused havoc. But it wouldn't have been a picnic. It wouldn't ave been a walk over. Ya. You know, the whole thing about, you knowe, er being unprepared and on our own effectively. Do you think they were even realistically planning for it? Well, that's thatso of big question. Certainly there were at least nominal preparations with barges and goodness knows what else being assembled on the Channel coast.
