Connecting the Dots
The most important thing managers need to do initially is, as you say, connect the dots. Help people understand how what they're doing already contributes to purpose. Is it a matter of alining with a volunteer effort within the organization that imbus within some one's current role that greater sense of purpose? Or maybe even linking to the work that someone's doing outside of the work place and bringing that into our coaching conversations. The other side of any of this is not just what are you going to give, but what do you want to learn in the process? And who do you wants to learn from?"
