The Deck of Cards That We Were Handed

From infancy, we can't survive on our own. Those earliest relationships also become the model for what even connection means to us. How we showed up and how connected or disconnected we were then becomes the model that we pursue in terms of our relationship with others. It's our deck of cards, or our hand of cards, that each person was given. Now it is in my power to choose to respond and play them how i want to, and maybe create something new that is completely different from the set of cards that i was giving.
