After graduating from business school, he went to work for GM in Detroit. His first job was on a second shift chassis line with 30 of the biggest guys you ever saw working for him. He wanted to get into robotics and presented his idea at General Motors board meetings. The board gave him the green light; they were World War II veterans who had seen Japan take over the world.
