The Effects of Different Types of Antibodies on Immunity to Flu

The current influenza vaccines are designed to produce highly specific antibodies. These antibodies typically bind to places on the head domain of this molecule called hemagglutinin. In particular circumstances, we're able to produce a second class of antibodies and these are the broadly neutralizing antibodies.
