The Importance of Education in Prosperity

We're still a manufacturing powerhouse in this country, but the percentage of people employed in manufacturing is plummeted because we've gotten very, very good automation. That way of life has largely disappeared. There's also the influence of offshoring, the jobs going to Mexico and the China. One way or the other, it's really difficult to have a replicable path to prosperity if you don't have a college degree.
