The Politics of the Midterm Elections
9 in 10 Americans think that there could be an increase in political violence after these midterm elections. Nearly all of them blamed the opposing party for being the one that's stirring up the problem. So, they're not minded to do anything about it if they say it's the other side who are now pretty much seen as the enemy who are causing the problem. That just furthers the entrenchment. And people who are worried about what this polarization means can't even agree on what the problem is or how to fix it.
