How to Avoid Contact Between Implants and Sockets
If the socket dimensions are narrow, and you do contact that route, if the excessive pressure is placed on that labial root shield, you could end up dislodging it. So I like to try to minimize how much contact there is between the implant and that socket shield or that route remnant. Sometimes it's unavoidable depending on the dimensions of the socket. But in my opinion, the most important area to avoid contact is right in the crestal area where you're going to actually have a seal and you'll have a restoration attaching.
