The Story of Anna and Rekleen Mendietta
Anna and Rekleen Mendietta were sent to the US as part of Operation Peter Pan. The sisters arrived in Iowa, where they met a priest who told them about ballpoint pens. Anna's mother stayed behind with her third child while Ignacio was jailed for 20 years. "They were just really shocked by the lack of knowledge really of who these kids were," says their sister.
