The 2019 to 2020 Flu Season

Last year, a B virus had been diagnosed more among children and young adults up to 24 years old. An A virus had been more common among adults 65 and older. Last year's vaccine worked better against the B strain of the flu,. It was 50% effective versus the A strain, which was about 37%. Overall, it worked better in children in teens age six months to 17 with a 55% effectiveness rate.
