The Difference Principle and the Equal Opportunity Principle
I think it's helpful to have a conceptual distinction between equality of opportunity and equality of outcome. But in practice, the two are obviously closely related and parents' outcomes are children's opportunities. And you can't have equal opportunities for children unless you, at the very least, I would sort of, I suppose my order of priority would be first to eliminate poverty. The gaps in terms of the strength of the relationship between parental resources and how children do in life are really strongest at the bottom but also right at the top.
