Wokeness is considered an element of so called progressive thought or leftist thought I don't think that's really the case. In fact, when I was researching this chapter and wokeness, I found an incredible amount of podcasts, interviews, articles, written from the far left criticizing wokeness in ways that might be similar on the conservative and right. So they exert an influence on academia, which is probably one of the centers of what we call woke ideology.
