The Crimean Tatars and the Austrians in 1683
Polish-Lithuanians and Crimean Tatars who have been fighting on their own border for a long time are now fighting in somebody else's border. The Viennese cannot tell the Poles, Lithuanians from the Crimean Tatars. Because of hairstyles, because of Cematars, because of the cavalry, they cannot tell the difference. So the decision that was made was that the Poles are going to put a bit of straw in their helmets.
