The MP-Man helped establish the MP3 as a file type that could be used for portable devices. The Rio PMP 300 had 32 megabytes of storage space, and you'd load music from a computer using a parallel port cable. A circle in the front gave basic controls like play, fast forward, rewind, and stop. Other buttons allowed you to change the volume level or select basic functions like repeat.
