Matrilineal Societies Are Crap for Men

My theory here is that matrilocality is crap for men because you're under the authority of your wife's kin. No man wants to be in that submissive subordinate position doing bride service, labor service for their wife's family. So wherever you have an economic exit option men flee matriline. In Zambia when they opened up the copper mines men would go and work for that labor income in the mines and then start their own nuclear family. The nares and buns were matrilineal but when those educated salary men were working for the colonial administration they pushed for nuclear families as they wanted their own authority.
