Kohn: There are some forms of cultural appropriation that hinge on the appropriator producing representations of the appropriated culture. She says if we avoid essentialism altogether, we actually have to give up on the idea of calling out individuals for cases of cultural appropriation because we can't objectively determine who is or isn't a particular culture.
