The authors of this document are trying to get us to see there's more to human knowledge than just scientific rationality or empiricism. And when we try to put god within this empirical notion, and that's it, we're going to fail to see the sacraments. Without faith, the symbols of a sacramental nature do not actualize their meaning. They are muted. So sacramentality is meant to root faith and grow faith. Think about that when you're about to baptize a baby a into a family that doesn't practise.
