In 1980, there was something about this pairing of Richard Pryor on the one hand and nerdy old looking Gene Wilder that was was electric. And I don't feel it now because Richard Pryor is so checked out in this movie. Oh, he completely checked out. And Gene Wilder a little bit, a little bit too much.
