Fed Tightening Cycle
The Fed is in the midst of the most aggressive tightening cycle since Volcker. They've pretty clearly signaled that they will raise rates by 50 basis points at the December meeting. We do expect them to cut rates next year, but we don't think they get close to zero. The negative confidence effects could reduce their probability of achieving a soft landing.
