Pilot Stanley Sledge says he saw a group of civilians being executed in Vietnam. He was told to get them out with hand grenades, but the officer said that was none of his business because he was in charge of the ground troops. Sgt. Thompson eventually coaxed the villagers from their bunker and flew them four miles away. "I mean this is a you can't get any more drama than that," writes Sledge.
