Three of the eight survivors became captains themselves. The third island guy didn't return to the whaling life, but he retired on an island. In 1964, the deadliest year for whales in history, 30,000 whales were killed by any number of Scandinavian and Japanese whales. And what do we get from it? The beloved for candles and shit? Well, that was because that really happened when the first sperm whale took down the Scandinavian node trade center. This is a war against whales.
