What Happened to the Glass?
When it's really not deterministic then what happened didn't have to happen, but it had a certain probability of happening. What's relevant to explaining what happened is everything that had a positive impact on that probability. So in the end of course you might be in a situation where something very unusual happened - and even though nine times out of 10 it would have been okay, these are the things that didn't fact matter.
