How to Teach Conversation Skills in a Social Setting
We want to go back to what we're talking about though as far as practicing the skill in the context. So there are occasions where I might first work with a child individually to really see what the specific behaviors are and really learn what strategies work best for that child. And then when I can see what's most effective and how they respond to different triggers, then I can fade the child into maybe a group with just one peer and maybe a peer model that doesn't have special needs.
