Steve got so many layers, it was really hard to understand him from the outside. People think Steve sat in the room and just dreamt up the most amazing user experience without talking to anybody or doing any work. That was definitely not the fact. The one thing he didn't do is go ask people what they wanted. Oli: How do we explain the Steve Jobs of the world then? Is there like a buffer overflow where it's like you have so much confidence and you're so mean to people that eventually they're like, you know what, he must be right?"
