Is the Small Pox Vaccine Protecting Monkey Pox?

Monkey pox is a cousin of smallpox. When you have a population that has no immunity to a virus and is exposed to a virus, we're likely to see spread. We've seen increasing cases in africa, in the democratic republic of congo, in nigeria. And so it makes sense, with increased tra and trade, eventually we're going to see importations of these cases of monkey pox from endemic countries.
