CHAPTER

The Making of Meaning in Public Health

The term comorbidity is often used to describe the cause of death of most convenience. We act as if these meanings almost are devoid of any sort of bias or beyond manipulation because there's this false idea that what is on the death certificate and what is being reported is somehow empirical. And we're seeing this process happen in a way that moves forward and backward in time right now when it comes to COVID.
