The Economic Repercussions of Nail Salon Workers
There is a growing movement of nail artists who are working to re-center black folks in the nail art conversation. The Instagram account, Black Girl Nail Fees, is a great place to start connecting with some of those artists. Through interviews with more than 150 nail salon workers, reporter Sarah Maslin-Neer found out that the vast majority were paid below minimum wage.
