The Treatment of Christine Blasey Ford and Anita Hill

The treatment of Christine Blasey Ford was different from the treatment of Anita Hill in many ways and so depressingly familiar right in terms of at least the outcome. When it came to Anita Hill, she was dismissed in ways that were extraordinarily disrespectful and I think that it did reshape in many ways the nation thinks about sexual harassment. In trying to take stock of the kind of impact of the conversation for testimony and Kavanaugh's obvious eventual confirmation it's actually important to take into account how that episode has been treated in the subsequent confirmations.
