The Fear of Fully Autonomous Weapon Systems

Over 1000 AI scientists and ethicists and entrepreneurs released a letter last March, asking all people and all companies involved in AI to take immediate six months of breaks from any unsanctioned research or testing involving any advanced AI systems. And that is almost certainly what will be in that classified briefing this morning for the US senators. There is something called the fully autonomous weapon systems. The idea is that you will infuse a say a drone or a plane with an AI brain. No humans necessary.
