The Importance of Confidence in Songwriting

I was definitely a more shy kid and I think that's part of the reason why I loved songwriting because it felt like, you know, a way to express how I was feeling. And so even though I was very shy when I got up on stage and I was singing my songs and stuff, I think I just got so lost in the music that that kind of went away. But mostly I don't think I really cared whether people liked it or not. I was like, well, I like what I created and I'm having fun creating it. So I'm just going to keep doing it.
