Lawyer Kurt Haskell claimed he saw a well-dressed man helping Abdul Matalib get sorted out to get boarded onto flight 235 from Amsterdam to Detroit. He was interviewed by outlets ranging from NPR to info wars and no greater information ever came out. When asked if it's possible that he got people confused, he says it's not possible.
