The Lost Opportunity in Zionism
The dispossession of the Jewish people from Jerusalem in particular was not done by the Arab people it was done by the Romans after the Jewish revolt against Rome failed. The Palestinian Arabs were engaged in anti-colonial struggle against the Ottoman Empire and to various degrees against the British Empire as well. This could have been a source of solidarity we see actually early on in the process of settlement the possibilities of things moving in a different direction.
