The people on low incomes all believe that they are going to aspire to the tall poppies because they think they can get there themselves. Itse aspirations keep them in check. Pla imeant, that is the case where the french, and the french have still got unions too. So like the d dunionization of the world is very much an anglo saxon phenomenon
