Nixit is about 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Residents have complained of asthma, COPD, and other respiratory issues. People who live in the area have noticed their houses are bending or cracking as permafrost melts. Animals like caribou and whales will be impacted by global heating but also some of this infrastructure.
