Beethoven's First Symphony
Beethoven hadn't written a symphony for five years, and in fact was never going to write a symphony again. By this time, 104 hide-in symphonies later, audiences expected something pretty wrote when it came to the symphony. The first thing that was noticed about this opening is that it quote, features the winds. It's amazing looking back at the symphony how much Beethoven already was pushing the boundaries.
