"I was trying to sort of make fun of the, the most extreme sort of CIA method so I'm talking about like the Stargate program where apparently the Pentagon put all this money into like hiring people to stare at the, you know, if they can make their heart stop or engage in remote viewing," he says. "It's kind of making fun of them for employing these kind of methods and then saying if it's good enough for the Marine Corps, then maybe I can employ those similar methodsMaybe I can psychically occupy the paranoid mindscape right?" He adds that a historian cannot empathize with her historical subjects because she can't get inside their minds.
