Gipsy rose, in my opinion, was absolutely held in captivity. She was born into this abuse, and there was just no way out for her. In the vidios, she's up beat, she's happy, but she does know anything else. And the only love and affection she can hope to gain from pretty much the only person in her life, dedy, was to play along. Dedy's power over gipsy was absolute, completely suffocating and absolutely all consuming. But try as she might, dedy couldn't stop the unstoppable force of gipsy sexual development.
