The Remarks of a Socialist

Wright was a socialist who joined the munist party in 19 33 and wrote for the journal daily worker. He ultimately split from the party in 19 forty two after a sequence of events detailed in an angry and rather entertaining piece called, i tried to be a communist. Wright praises padmore in this preface as the greatest living authority on african nationalism. But wright has his own insights to share about why most black people don't embrace organized communism.
