The Blood of the Bull and the Goat
On yom kippur, the day of atonement, according to leviticus 16, he offered two animals up in sacrifice. A third was released into the desert. Blood of the bull covered the sins of the priest and his family. The blood of the t covered the Sins of the people. So it's done again and again and again as a reminder sin requires death. But jesus doesn't keep offering sacrifices. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.
