What Is the Classical Model of God?
i think it'll be really helpful for some of our listeners to clarify some terminology. What do you and philosophers like catherine rogersad or paul helm mean by classical theism? And what makes classical theism unique among rival models of god? Right? So, yes, i'll start with what classical theism has in common with other models. All models of god are going to affirm that god is a necessarily existent, eternal being with other attributes like ausaity, self sufficiency. Everyone wants to affirm maximul knowledge, maxima power, perfect goodness, freedom and perfect rationality. That's the standard way of articulating what it means for god to be perfect.
